Missing Birth Certificate
I have been searching for the Birth Certificate of a Clara Frances Webb for some time now.

From census records she was born in Limehouse circa 1896, does anyone have any ideas for what I can try next?

I don't know if you already have this information, but a Clara was baptised at St Anne, Limehouse on 6th May 1896. She was born on 16th April 1896 - parents were James Charles and Eleanor Webb and they lived in 16 Princes Place. This Clara Frances may have married James William Beasley (Age 24, Occupation Soldier. Father James Alfred Beasley) on 16th (or 26th) December 1920 in the Parish Church St Peters, Limehouse.

RE: Missing Birth Certificate
Thank you rachdun, really appreciate the help.

As she was Baptised in Limehouse, do you think we should be able to locate a birth certificate for her somewhere?

It is the Clara Frances Webb that married James Beasley that I am looking for.

Thanks again

RE: Missing Birth Certificate
I have found a reference to her in the 1901 Census:-

Nightingale Lane, Limehouse, London

Mr Webb Head 32 General Labourer Limehouse, London
Mrs Webb Wife 31 Limehouse, London
James Webb Son 8 Limehouse, London
Clara? Webb Dau 5 Limehouse, London
Harriet Webb Dau 9mo Limehouse, London
Mr H Hill Father in Law 54 Buckinghamshire(Widower)

So helpful - Mr and Mrs Webb!!

1911 - 15 South Street, Limehouse

James Webb Head 38 Labourer Poplar, London
Eleanor Webb Wife 38 Holloway, London
James Webb Son 18 Labourer Limehouse, London
Clara Webb Dau 15 Limehouse, London
Mary Ann Webb Dau 2 Poplar, London

According to the 1911 Census, they had been married for 18 years and had 9 children, 6 of which had died

RE: Missing Birth Certificate
It may be worth obtaining the birth certificate for one of her siblings instead of trying to find one for Clara.

I have found a marriage in freebmd which could be her parents:-

James Webb
Eleanor Burton Jan-Mar 1891 Pancras 1b 191

RE: Missing Birth Certificate
Hi EssexM,

I think we might be related. I am also looking for the birth certificate for Clara Frances Webb. She is my grandmother. Our mothers were probably sisters??

I contacted the General Records Office and they were not able to find an entry for Clara. I'm wondering whether the family just didn't register her or something else is going on. Have you found any further information since this post?

Hope to hear from you soon
